Adam Wingard in talks to shoot next Monsterverse pic for Legendary – Deadline

Adam Wingard is in talks to take another MonsterVerse photo for Legendary, following the overwhelming success of Godzilla vs. Kong, The fitshopee can confirm.

If Wingard’s deal goes through, he’ll be the first returning director in MonsterVerse history. 2014 Godzilla was directed by Gareth Edwards, signing Jordan Vogt-Roberts for 2017 Kong: Skull island, and Michael Dougherty overseeing the 2019s Godzilla: King of the monsters.

Wingard’s signing is not a big surprise. He told Deadline in March that he was eager to continue the story and even hinted at where he would go. Here is what he said: “I would absolutely love to continue. The clear starting point that we got into, exploring Hollow Earth, I think there’s a lot more to do there. It is a prehistory of planet Earth, where all the titans come from. We’ve created a mystery in this movie, things that I want to see solved, explored, and taken to the next level. If I get the chance, I know what I’m going to do. It’s up to Warner Bros and Legendary, if they have the appetite.
