Adnan Virk visits Meadowlark Media and teams up with former ESPN colleagues Dan Le Batard and John Skipper – Deadline

Adnan Virk, a Canadian sports broadcaster whose nine-year ESPN run ended abruptly in 2019, reunites with former colleagues Dan Le Batard and John Skipper at Meadowlark Media.

The emerging content company, launched in January, will add Virk as a regular contributor from July. The Batard was a popular host of Highly Questionable and Skipper has served nearly three decades at ESPN, including six years as chairman.

ESPN sacked Virk, who was on the rise on the network, in 2019. Reports at the time said he had been accused of leaking confidential information to the media on multiple occasions. Virk denied the charges and then agreed with ESPN that both parties would forgo legal action to have Virk released from his contract.

In addition to his long athletic career, which has also included stints at TSN Canada and, more recently, DAZN, MLB Network and NHL Network, Virk also hosts the weekly Cinephile Podcast. Meadowlark’s announcement of his hiring anointed him as such and said the podcast would be transferred to the Le Batard & Friends network.
