All3Media, the super-producer owned by Discovery and Liberty Global, has completed the acquisition of NENT Studios UK from Nordic Entertainment Group.
NENT Studios UK, who is behind the drama Connie Nielsen and Viaplay / Channel 4’s Christopher Eccleston Near me, went on sale last November, a little over a year after the creation of the production and distribution activity.
NENT Studios UK was officially known as DRG and has a catalog of over 10,000 hours of content. He manages sales on shows, including Doctor Martin, Slogan, and Don’t tell the bride. The company is headed by Richard Halliwell and will be integrated into All3Media International.
All3Media CEO Jane Turton said, “There has never been so much demand for high quality intellectual property, and we are all looking forward to working closely with the producers of these shows.” Louise Pedersen, CEO of All3Media International, added: “With over 10,000 hours of internationally renowned content and fantastic programming, this catalog will be a great addition to our library.”
As good as Near me, NENT Studios UK said last year that it has another series that has been fully funded and is on the verge of being lit. He added that he had 15 paid development projects and an internal roster of 40 other shows.
Nordic Entertainment Group is offloading NENT Studios UK, as well as a number of other production companies, as it focuses on growing its streamer Viaplay.
