Good news for AMC which opened the doors of its Century City and Burbank sites on Monday after a year of closure due to Covid restrictions:
The No. 1 Circuit Burbank location sold 22 of its 32 sessions, while Century City sold 18 of its 30 sessions yesterday. Remember that the capacity is capped at 25%. But still, it’s a good start as the film industry seeks to reestablish the # 1 box office market.
As we told you, Boogie Filmmaker Eddie Huang celebrated the reopening of Los Angeles theaters by visiting Century City last night to present his film and took photos with fans.
However, if you are in Burbank tonight you will find that AMC Burbank 16 is closed. Nothing to worry about, as a spokesperson for the exhibitor puts it to Deadline tonight:
“Before it opened today, the theater’s water heater, which supplies hot water to the toilets and the concession, was not functioning properly. As a result, we closed the theater today so that the necessary repairs can be made. We are optimistic that we will be able to reopen tomorrow once the repairs are complete. “
More details on reopening other AMC locations in Los Angeles this weekend are to come.
