Bradley Gibson will return to “Kung Fu”; Quentin Plair joins ‘Roswell, New Mexico’ – Deadline

Bradley Gibson, who is currently returning as Everett in the Starz series Power Book II: Ghost is about to join the next reboot of Kung Fu on The CW in a recurring role.

Gibson will play the character of Joe Harper in Kung Fu. He is described as a man in his twenties, graphic designer and community organizer in Oakland. Joe is “funny, sexy, hip – deeply serious about his job and activism, but also committed to the joys of life: friendship, art, love.”

He’s a social butterfly, having a foothold in many communities in the San Francisco Bay Area, including gay San Francisco, bohemian San Francisco, the black community of Oakland – where he grew up. Joe is an idealist, but he is deeply realistic about the many obstacles to profound systemic change. However, he cannot keep his guard on love. He has an intensely romantic streak that will draw him to Nicky’s (Olivia Liang) brother Ryan (Jon Prasida).

Gibson was the most recent Simba in The Lion King on Broadway. He also appeared in A tale from the Bronx after making his Broadway debut in Rocky. Heis set to return for the second season of the above Ghost, which is currently filming in New York. He is replaced by BRS-Gage and Steve Maihack at 44 West Entertainment.

In another part of the CW casting news, Rosewell, New Mexico added Quentin Plair in a recurring guest star role.

The actor is expected to play Dallas, a “charming and enigmatic preacher capable of guessing people’s problems and giving them the advice they seek.” He is thoughtful and knows many religions well. He has a passion for music and is able to quote the writings and lyrics of Biggie Smalls in one breath. Dallas draws others to its orbit with its unique take on life’s great mysteries, and will cross paths with Rosa at a pivotal point in her road to recovery.

Plair was recently seen with Ethan Hawke and Daveed Diggs on the Showtime series. The good Lord bird. His credits also include BET The Quad, ABC The good doctor and Hello Cupid for Black & Sexy TV. He also starred in the Netflix movie Burning sands and Drumline for VH1. He is replaced by David Lederman at Innovative Artists and Lesley Brander at Monogram Management Group.
