Grammy-nominated pop group BTS, the world’s largest group from South Korea, is once again in a record-breaking frenzy. Their English track on the retro-disco theme ‘Dynamite’ broke the record for most weeks spent at No.1 on Billboard’s digital song sales chart.
The song, released on August 21, 2020, debuted atop the Hot 100 chart on September 5 and has now spent 18 weeks at No. 1 on the chart. ‘Dynamite’ broke Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s 17-week record “Despacito”, with Justin Bieber in 2017.

The song spent a record 32 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, surpassing the 2012 song by Korean singer-producer PSY. ‘Gangnam Style’. The song officially became the longest song in Korean act history. Interestingly, the song scored 32 wins on Korean music shows, making history once again.
BTS released their latest album ‘BE (Deluxe Edition)’ released on November 20, 2020, which debuted No. 1 on Billboard 2020 with their title track ‘Life goes on’ earning the No. 1 Hot 100 spot on the Billboard charts. They won their third No.1 on the Hot 100 chart (after ‘Dynamite’ and Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo’s ‘Savage Love – Laxed – Siren Beat’) and first with a Korean song. The title song became the first Korean song to top the charts. ‘Dynamite’ was the best-selling digital song of 2020 in the United States with over 1.26 million downloads.
