New music from BTS Grammy nominated popstars has arrived! After a phenomenal 2020 year with record breaking songs and albums, they released the track ‘Film Out’ from their next Japanese album ‘BTS, THE BEST’ who will have a compilation of their hit Japanese songs.
Titled ‘Movie Out‘is a new original soundtrack in collaboration with Japanese rock band Back Number that will be used in the upcoming Japanese film Signal which is a remake of a Korean drama of the same name. BTS also performed the OST, ‘Do not leave me’, for the series in 2018.
The clip begins with Jungkook and Jimin humming in different rooms as Jin walks into the room and sees the members from a distance. RM’s worms are frightening as they remember the injuries sustained during the journey, “Decomposition too far away absorbing neither light nor water / Sealing my wounded heart with a rootless and leafless wish / glasses placed side by side, their role / Never fulfilled, ah, as they were“It feels like they’re stuck in the time when Jin remembers his good memories and wants to reach out to someone. There is a back and forth between his solo scenes and the group moments, including included callbacks to their Korean song. ‘False love’ – especially parts of the room and with an hourglass while he is humming “Since you last touched them / Of all the memories stored in my heart / I bring those of you together, tie them together. “
Cut to the next part where Suga and J-Hope are seen reflected in a deserted place seems to be a callback to ‘Black Swan’ when Ego met Shadow. Although this is still a theory. Jimin and V harmonize together to recall the living dream. The music video goes back and forth between how eager they are to find that “someone” and keep wandering around. “Tit the words you whisper, the resonance / Going aimlessly around the room / The scent I smell, the heat I feel / As long as it lasts, as long as it lasts. “
BTS’s Jungkook worked with Back Number singer Iyori Shimizu to create the melody for the song! The teaser was unveiled a few days ago. The clip shows the septet – RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook remembering a person who never disappears from the heart and is still remembered! The lyrics reflecting the feelings of someone’s desire – “You in my imagination / Are so vivid, Like you’re right there / But I reach out / And you suddenly disappear / From all the memories stored in my heart / I bring those of you together, bind them together / Watching ’em thrown across the room / I feel you with every burst of pain. “
With ‘Lights’, ‘Stay Gold’, ‘Crystal Snow’ and “ Your eyes say so ”, the theme was very moving with their Japanese songs. If we remember, BTS’s powerful and moving B-side track ‘Butterfly’ spoke of the fear of losing someone when ‘Movie Out ‘ thinks about the heartbreaking feeling of losing someone. ‘Film Out’ captures the strong emotions associated with the loss of sense of belonging and the feeling of rush that you once felt with the person you were with. The vocals are perfect with calming harmonies as they capture the essence of grief very well.
‘BTS, THE BEST’ releases on June 16, three days after BTS’s 8th anniversary. It will contain additional content including behind the scenes and cover photo making, as well as 23 tracks including video clips of their 6 songs on the discs –Film Out ‘,’ Stay Gold ‘,’ Lights’, ‘Plane pt. 2 ‘,’ Mic Drop ‘ and Tears of blood sweat ‘ Japanese versions.
Last year, BTS’s single ‘Stay golden’ from their Japanese album ‘Map of the soul: 7 – The journey’ served as the original soundtrack for the Japanese drama, Spiral Labyrinth – DNA Forensic Investigation (literal translation). Original second track ‘Your Eyes Tell’ served as OST for a Japanese film Kimi No Me Ga Toikakete Iru which is a remake of the Korean movie, Always. It was co-written and co-composed by youngest BTS member Jungkook.
