Derek Luke and Sabrina Revelle among the 5 actors of the Disney + pilot – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: Derek Luke (The purge), Sabrina Revelle (Zac and Mia), Skyla I’Lece (Tour: Washington’s Spies), Deja Monique Cruz (Law and Order: SVU) and Trevor Raine Bush (After) round out the series’ regular cast for Crossing, The Disney + drama pilot based on the award-winning Newbery Award-winning verse novel by author, poet and educator Kwame Alexander. They join previously announced leaders Jayln Hall and Amir O’Neil.

Written by Alexander and Damani Johnson (All stand up) with Dee Johnson (Nashville, the good wife) supervise and be directed by George Tillman Jr. (The hate you give, for life), Crossing tells the story of Josh and JB Bell, 14-year-old basketballphenom brothers. The boys come of age on and off the court as their former pro-baller dad adjusts to life after basketball and the matriarch mom has finally been able to pursue her own dreams. This ambitious and emotional family drama is fully told by Josh through his lyrical poetry. “With a lightning bolt on my kicks.” . . The yard is GRILLED. My sweat is DRIZZLE. Stop all that shuddering. Because tonight I’m delivering.

Luke will play Chuck Bell. The father of twins Filthy (Hall) and JB (O’Neil), 13, is a former professional basketball player who knows all about the game. A loving husband and father, he will do whatever it takes to give his family what she needs.

Revelle will play Crystal Bell, a life force mother to 13-year-old twins Filthy (Hall) and JB (O’Neil).

I’Lece will play Alexis, a talented musician who has just moved to the neighborhood.

Cruz will play Maya. Sharp as a sharp, observant, insightful and unafraid to speak her mind, Maya is one of Filthy and JB’s best friends.

Bush is Vondie, Filthy and JB’s best friend and another basketball player on the team.

Alexander, Damani Johnson and Dee Johnson produce with Tillman, Bob Teitel and Jay Marcus via State Street Pictures (Hair Salon, Soul Food).

Luke just finished production on the drama Blumhouse for Epix American refugee. On television, we can see Luke in season 2 of USA’s The purge. He appeared in season 3 of the DirecTV series, Thug and recidivated on the FX Americans. He can also be seen in the Netflix series, 13 reasons why. He is replaced by ICM Partners, Greenlight Management and Ziffren Brittenham.

Revelle did it again on Netflix Zac & Mia and YouTube Premium Sick champagne, and had guest roles in series including those of TNT Animal Kingdom and CBS ‘ 2 broken girls. She is replaced by Matt Prater of Citizen Skull.

I’Lece credits include AMC series Tour: Washington’s Spies and that of Starz P-Valley. I’Lece is represented by A3 Artists Agency and managed by Jackie Reid at Lil Angels Unlimited Talent.

Cruz, whose credits include a guest role on Law and Order: SVU, is replaced by Innovative Artists and Sheila Crawford at Spectrum productions and Sharyn Berg at Sharyn Talent Management.

Bush’s credits include the independent feature film After, produced by Parallel Productions. He is replaced by The Savage Agency, Luber Roklin Entertainment and Skrzyniarz & Mallean.
