Dominic Purcell, star of ‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’, burns some bridges – Deadline

Actor Dominic Purcell “walks away” from his role as Mick Rory, aka Heatwave, on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. But true to his character’s temper, he left a fiery message in his wake.

In his first Instagram post announcing his departure (see below), Purcell noted: “The studio doesn’t care. The work ethic and talent of the actors must give them the confidence to challenge authority. … Much love to all. I have not lost sight of my chance. He ended the post with a call for the cast to “get me on DM” to discuss what he called “False (c words)”.

Apparently, cooling off later, he deleted the original post and edited it with a different ending. “A big thank you to the cast and crew and to all the great relationships I have built over the years. Thanks everyone. Dom. “

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow begins its sixth season on May 2. It was renewed for a seventh season in February. Purcell initially said a few days after the deal was announced that he would leave at the end of Season 7, when his contract was over. He did not claim any intention to leave the show until then, but this post has since been deleted.

Representatives for The CW and Warner Bros. TV, which produces DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, did not comment on Purcell’s statements. According to sources, the studio has yet to start negotiations with the cast on next season. Legends of tomorrow was one of 12 CW series that received early renewals in February.
