EXCLUSIVE: BTS ARMY raises over Rs. 10 lakh for COVID-19 relief in India in less than 12 hours: Bollywood News

India is facing the biggest health crisis as it recorded 332,730 cases of coronavirus on April 23, making it the highest number of cases reported in a single day in the world, according to the BBC. The surge in COVID-19 cases has led to a shortage of oxygen cylinders, hospital intensive care beds and ventilators. With the coronavirus cases soaring, thousands of deaths, the lack of supplies and medical facilities overwhelmed during the second wave, the citizens of the country stepped in and took it upon themselves to provide resources, all kinds of leads for plasma donors, medical supplies, among others. . From Instagram to Twitter to Facebook, the majority of social media platforms are inundated with SOS messages. Amid the crisis, fans of the Grammy-nominated South Korean group BTS, called ARMY, organized a fundraiser to help Indian citizens.

BTS fan club BANGTAN INDIA posted a donation link on Twitter on April 23 at 9:30 p.m. IST, urging fans around the world and even locals to educate themselves about the fundraiser so people can spend the word and donate in any capacity. “India is currently facing one of the worst covid epidemics in the history of the pandemic. The second wave is much more deadly than the first, and our health care infrastructure is under great strain. Individuals, as well as organizations, are trying to support the needs of the many people affected by covid as best they can, ”the statement read.

In less than 12 hours, BTS ARMY raised Rs. 10 lakh. Donations come not only from India, but from fans around the world. The message is very clear: Any amount you can afford would help someone in need. If you can’t, just spread the word. The plan is for the fan club to share bi-weekly campaign updates with everyone.

Through this fundraiser, the plan is to help providers with free oxygen cylinders, provide medical supplies, and energize the kitchen that provides meals to COVID-19 patients at home and the homeless. The main focus is three organizations: Anubhuti Trust – a nonprofit / NGO formed and led by women, TYCIA Foundation – which is now providing the most vulnerable communities with food rations by creating a network of ‘facilitators’ ‘around India and Mazdoor Kitchen – which is run by a dedicated team of volunteers including professors, students, artists and people from the community itself, it provides meals and ration kits to hundreds people across North Delhi since lockdown began.

The fan club is currently focusing on the states of Maharashtra and Delhi which have been deeply affected. But, they plan to work to help other states as well. “We are currently prioritizing the Maharashtra and Delhi NCR initiatives, but we want to start expanding our support to cities like Lucknow, Bangalore, Ranchi and others that are hard hit, and with your help we can.” , indicates the press release.

The sheer determination of the citizens of the country should be appreciated. The same goes for the work of this fandom which has stepped up time and again in times of crisis and provided aid to the needy. There can be a lot of noise, but when it comes to humanity, they all come together to help each other.

For global superstars, BTS, originally from South Korea, are known for their musical versatility, meaningful music and strong stage presence.
