Maharashtra has been locked away for the next 15 days, even though the plan presented allows people to use essential services, all filming and TV shows have been halted. Bodies such as the Indian Council of Film and Television Producers (IFTPC), the Federation of Film Workers of West India (FWICE), the Indian Association of Film and Television Producers (IMPPA) and the Indian Association of Film and Television Directors (IFTDA) – wrote a letter to Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, hoping to secure a concession during the lockdown.

While post-production work must continue to deliver content already recorded, the councils have agreed to open vaccination centers. In addition to vaccines, they have agreed to provide shelter and pay for the daily bets that will remain on the sets. Big budget movies like Vikram Vedha, Pathan, Adipurush, and Tiger 3 had to be stopped abruptly due to the lockdown. The authorities asked the CM to examine their request and to allow them to work on the pre and post-production aspects of films and television shows.

The letter was sent to the CM and now the unions are awaiting his response on this matter.
