Former Sony Director Luke Scrase launches Golden Gate Studios – fitshopee

Luke Scrase, the former head of Sony Pictures International Productions, is launching his own UK-based production company, Golden Gate Studios. The company has entered into a premier deal for film and television projects with Sony, starting this month.

Golden Gate will focus on the development and production of UK and European genre films as well as commercial television series for the global market. The aim will be to produce a mix of content in English and the local language.

Scrase remains committed to various Sony projects that he initiated during his time at the studio’s UK office. His credits include Michael Winterbottom Greed and that of Michael Caton-Jones our ladies, the last of which will be released later this year. It also has that of Patrick Marber Recall, with Colin Firth and Gemma Arterton, and Kelly’s Death Spit, directed by Iain Softley, in preparation.

“I am delighted to launch Golden Gate at this exciting time for the company. Never before has there been such an appetite for ambitious and diverse European stories that deliver globally with an influx of new buyers and creators of content. I look forward to developing new projects that fit this mold and continuing to work with all of the producers and filmmakers who have entrusted me with their projects at Sony, ”said Scrase.
