EXCLUSIVE: Greenwich Entertainment acquired the US rights to Whirlybird by A&E IndieFilms. The documentary, which premiered at Sundance last year, is Matt Yoka’s feature debut. He follows a husband-and-wife helicopter press team that has covered some of Los Angeles’ most historic events.
Featuring high-profile stories from the ’80s and’ 90s such as the Los Angeles Riots and the infamous OJ Simpson Bronco chase, the film shows how the couple captured the city’s recent history and also shines a light on the culture. live news, fueled by adrenaline.
Pic was produced by Yoka and Diane Becker with executive producers Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato and Josh Braun. Elaine Frontain Bryant, Rob Sharenow and Molly Thompson are executive producers for A&E IndieFilms.
Andy Bohn of Greenwich negotiated the deal with Josh Braun and Matt Burke of Submarine on behalf of the filmmakers.
