Greg Gutfeld Gutfeld !, billed as a Fox News alternative to late-night comedy, debuted 1.69 million viewers and 318,000 among adults aged 25 to 54.
That was enough to beat its cable TV rivals at 11 p.m. ET, according to Nielsen figures released by Fox News. MSNBC The 11th hour with Brian Williams had 1.21 million viewers and 183,000 in the 25-54 demo, while CNN Tonight with Don Lemon released 678,000 and 190,000 in demo 25-54.
Gutfeld! replaced a newscast at 11 p.m. ET, Fox News @ Night, which moved at midnight, with 879,000 total viewers and 187,000 adults aged 25 to 54. MSNBC replay of The Rachel Maddow Show showed 880,000 total viewers and 125,000 in the 25-54 demo. CNN, with a rerun of Anderson Cooper 360, drew 562,000 viewers and 161,000 adults aged 25 to 54.
Fox News said the Gutfeld! debuts at the top of the annual average of other late-night shows, except for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, but the comparison is not quite apples to apples: Gutfeld! appears at 8 p.m. on the West Coast.
