Idris Elba signs film and TV deal with ‘Riviera’ producer Kris Thykier – Deadline

Golden Globe winner Idris Elba and Riviera and Kick ass producer Kris Thykier creates a joint venture which will see their respective production companies, Elba’s Green Door Pictures and Thykier’s Archery Pictures, work together on several film and television projects.

Thanks to the new partnership with Archery, the British company Green Door hopes to accelerate its development and production following Sky comic series Long-term and upcoming Netflix feature Concrete cowboy, both featuring Luther and Hobbs and Shaw actor Elba. The company is set to start production of BBC unscripted series soon Combat school, co-produced with WorkerBee.

London-based archery is currently in post-production on a war film Operation Mincemeat with Colin Firth, new fantasy series Destiny: The Winx Saga for Netflix, and the third season of the hit drama Sky Atlantic Riviera.

In November last year, Archery announced the launch of Mews Films, a new production label focused on developing a line of comedy films for the UK theatrical market. The company is a partnership with Danny Perkins’ Elysian Film Group.
