ITV has delayed production of its hit entertainment show England has an incredible talent as the coronavirus rages across the UK.
The talent show Syco Entertainment and Fremantle, created by Simon Cowell, was due to start filming later this month, but that has now been postponed indefinitely amid a Covid-19 surge that has forced England to a third national lockdown.
“The shooting of the 15th series of England has an incredible talent has been postponed from the record dates proposed at the end of January, ”said an ITV spokesperson. “With the announcement of the latest government health guidelines and with our focus on protecting the well-being of everyone involved in our programs, we, along with the production teams at Thames and Syco, have made the decision to move the record and broadcast of the upcoming series. “
Although production continues across the UK despite the lockdown, England has an incredible talent the producers decided that it would be impossible to stage the show under the current conditions. They take a safety-focused approach, given that hundreds of people are involved in making the series and artists travel from all over the world to participate.
This is not the first time that the coronavirus has derailed England has an incredible talent. Last year’s live finals had to be pushed back from spring to fall due to the pandemic, while the Christmas special was also delayed after team members tested positive.
