Jon Hamm and Tina Fey Embark on John Slattery Directed Film ‘Maggie Moore (s)’ – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: John Slattery prepares his second directorial film Maggie Moore (s) with comrade Mad Men former Jon Hamm and Tina Fey.

The black comedy also features the reteaming of Hamm and Fey, the former who starred in two of his series: in seven episodes of 30 Rock playing the characters of Abner, Dr Drew Baird and David Brinkley; and as cult leader Richard Wayne Gary Wayne in 13 Netflix episodes Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Maggie Moore (s) takes place in a dusty desert city where nothing happens, as a police chief is suddenly confronted with the consecutive murder of two women with the same name.


Endeavor Content launches international sales on the European film market for Maggie Moore (s). Slattery’s first feature film was the 2014 Crime Title God’s pocket with John Turturro, the late Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman, Mad Men alum Christina Hendricks and Richard Jenkins.

Cary Woods and John Slattery to produce Maggie Moore (s) alongside Vincent Newman, Ross Kohn and Nancy Leopardi who will be the executive producers.
The film is written by Paul Bernbaum, who previously wrote the film Ben Affleck-Diane Lane-Adrien Brody Hollywoodland. Contentious Media finances. Endeavor Content, Gersh and CAA Media Finance represent national sales.

Hamm has 16 Emmy nominations, including four for working on the Fey series. Next stop for Hamm is Paramount / Skydance Top Gun Maverick. His credits include Wild Mountain Thyme, Richard Jewell, Baby Driver, and The day the earth stood still. Guest Slattery performed on Fey’s 30 Rock as Steve Austin in the episode Brooklyn without limits and also starred in the Amazon series Modern love with her.

Fey returns to co-host the Golden Globes this Sunday with Amy Poehler. Fey recently starred in Disney / Pixar Soul, as well as Poehler’s Netflix comedy Wine country. His credits include Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Sisters, Muppets Most Wanted, Date Night, and Bad girls, which she wrote and turned into a 12 Tony nominated Broadway musical with husband, composer Jeff Richmond on music and Nell Benjamin on lyrics.

Woods has produced global blockbusters such as Yell and 1998 Godzilla as well as Rudy, Swingers, Copland, Children and Gummo. Newman produced the comedic blockbuster We are the millers, a man apart and Red Dawn.

Hamm is replaced by CAA, Forward Entertainment and Sloane, Offer, Webber & Dern; Fey is replaced by WME, 3 Arts and Ziffren Brittenham; Slattery is replaced by Gersh and Untitled; Bernbaum is replaced by Greenlit Management.
