NBCUniversal today announced that it will present 7,000 hours of unprecedented coverage of the Tokyo Olympics this summer on two broadcast networks, six cable networks and multiple digital platforms, serving both English and Spanish speaking viewers.
The postponed Games from last summer will be held July 23 to August 8 in Tokyo, Japan, the company said, dispelling contrary rumors that have spread due to local discontent and low vaccination rates in Japan.
“After a devastating year, the world is finally back in Tokyo this summer,” said Molly Solomon, executive producer and president of NBC Olympics Production. “We will provide the most comprehensive – and most accessible – coverage for any sporting event in history. The depth and breadth of our broadcasts will be unprecedented, featuring unique athletes and storylines that capture the incredible uniqueness of these Games and our time. “
