Netflix Reddit Novella Blake Lively Movie Deal We Used To Live Here – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: Netflix signs screen rights deal for We used to live here, a psychological thriller by Marcus Kliewer that made the city dizzy when it was purchased last week. Blake Lively is starring and producing with Kate Vorhoff via Lively’s B for Effort banner, along with Scott Glassgold of Ground Control Entertainment and Matt Reeves and Adam Kassan of 6th & Idaho. It came to Netflix through 6th & Idaho’s first Netflix deal. Dan Kagan also produces. The Novella chord was a solid six-figure and they block other chords.

Posted as part of Reddit’s Nosleep feature, the news has a powerful premise, about going back to your old childhood home to realize it’s not quite what you remember. An owner knocks on his door while his partner is at work. It is a husband, a wife and children. They are peculiar and the man says he has lived in the house before and wanted to take a look around. The owner is starting to get used to the old house herself and things get weirder and stranger as a snowstorm blocks visitors as they just don’t want to leave. The owner cannot get rid of it and ends up regretting opening the door as events progress.

This is the second sale of a No Sleep story in Glassgold’s final year of Ground Control to Netflix. Previously, Netflix bought Matt Query My wife and I bought a ranch, which Query’s screenwriter brother Harrison is adapting.

Lively recently signed on to star and produce the Netflix adaptation of Women killer, based on the Dark Horse Comic series.

Book rights for Kliewer’s We used to live here should go up for auction shortly.

Verve represents Kliewer and Ground Control and negotiated the auction; CAA 6th and Idaho representatives. WME represents Lively and its B for Effort, as well as Management 360 and Sloane Offer. Ground Control is also replaced by Ashley Silver.
