EXCLUSIVE: Howard Charles, Amazon star The widow and BBC The Musketeers, joined the cast of Top Boy for its second season on Netflix.
Deadline learns that Charles will be playing Curtis throughout the season in a subplot involving a Liverpool gang. Top Boy is currently filming in the UK after its original production schedule for 2020 was derailed by the coronavirus pandemic.
The gritty urban drama is created and written by Ronan Bennett, with production from Cowboy Films. The second season is actually the fourth season, given the show first premiered on Channel 4 in 2011.
Charles will then appear in Netflix Shadow and bone, which will be released on April 23, while recently filming Acorn TV’s British crime drama, Whitstable Pearl, which is based on the novels of Julie Wassmer. He is co-director of the latter alongside After life actress Kerry Godliman.
Charles’s other credits include ITV Liar and CBS The Red line. It is replaced by Paradigm, Grandview and The Artist Partnership.
