Potomac’s Monique Samuels Real Housewives Come Out After Four Years – Deadline

Monique Samuels will not return to The real housewives of Potomac.

Samuels revealed his decision on Sunday Instagram Live next The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 5 reunion show. “It’s not easy to do reality TV, and to be completely honest… I’m done with it. I’m done, ”she told fans.

“I appreciate everything people have done for me, all members of the Monique team, I love you all, thank you all. But when you cross certain lines, there is no turning back. For me, my family is that line. My family and kids’ opinions and what they think about everything I do is more precious to me than anyone else’s, so I have more.

Samuels described Sunday’s Season 5 reunion show as “very exhausting” to watch and explained that she decided to quit the show in an effort to protect her family from the drama.

“If my kids get old and say they watch everything and watch the show, what response can I give them? What would satisfy that? she added. “I wanted to represent true black love and show people something outside of what the stereotype was on TV. Unfortunately this season I played well in that stereotype… I was working overtime to really check myself out because it’s the exact opposite of what I want to show on a TV show, and in real life, especially . I will always be a great example and role model for my children, and you need to know when is enough. And that’s enough.

The fifth season of Real Housewives of Potomac focused on Samuels’ marriage to former NFL player Chris Samuels and rumors of fatherhood for their 2-year-old son, Chase. The couple, who married in March 2012, have two more children, son Christopher Jr., 7, and daughter Milani, 5.

Samuels, who joined the show in Season 2, thanked Bravo, “such an amazing network,” and expressed gratitude for “having the platform to be able to talk to so many people every week. I am so blessed and so grateful.

Samuels is the last to leave the franchise, after Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘Teddi Mellencamp and Denise Richards, Dorinda Medley from New York and NeNe Leakes from Atlanta.
