“Shameless” casts Joshua Malina; Beth Triffon joins ‘The Goldbergs’ – Deadline

Joshua Malina (Scandal) and Beth Triffon (Ten days in the valley) joined the Showtime casts Shameless and ABC The Goldbergs, respectively, in recurring roles. The two initially signed on for one-episode guest shots, which have already aired. Both were well received and ultimately turned into important guest arches.

Malina returns as Arthur Trilling in the eleventh and final season of Shameless. Arthur is a longtime Chicago cop who stays safe at work by refusing to leave his patrol car. Then he was assigned to Carl Gallagher as a junior partner and that changed everything.

With William H. Macy, the final season of Shameless finds the Gallagher family and the South Side at a crossroads, with the changes caused by the Covid pandemic, gentrification and aging to reconcile.
