Tributes to the “history-making” host, “masterful” interviewer – Deadline

Tributes were paid to Larry King, the legend of American television and radio, who died on Saturday just weeks after being hospitalized with coronavirus. He was 87 years old.

CNN Chairman Jeff Zucker paid tribute to King, a dominant figure in American journalism after a six-decade career in which he interviewed the world’s most important and famous people. King put CNN on the map with his show Larry King Live, and Zucker said the news network is proud to have it in its history.

“The rambling young man from Brooklyn has had a historic career in radio and television. His curiosity for the world propelled his award-winning career in broadcasting, but it was his generosity of spirit that drew the world to him, ”Zucker said.

“We’re so proud of his 25 years with CNN, where his interviews with reporters really brought the network to the international stage. From our CNN family to Larry’s, we send our thoughts and prayers, as well as the promise to continue his curiosity for the world in our work.

Piers Morgan, who replaced King in 2010, tweeted:
