Superstar Rajinikanth, who was admitted to a company hospital here on Friday with severe fluctuations in blood pressure, is stable and a decision on his discharge from the hospital will be made on Sunday morning, medics said on Saturday. “His blood pressure medications are carefully titrated and he will continue to be closely monitored. He has been advised to get full rest due to his unstable blood pressure and visitors are not allowed to see him,” a- he indicated.

Rajinikanth’s daughter is with him in the hospital. His family members and doctors urged all supporters to avoid going to the hospital.

The 70-year-old actor had been shooting for the Tamil film Annaatthe in Hyderabad for 10 days.

A few people on the film set had tested positive for Covid-19. Rajinikanth was tested for Covid-19 on December 22 and the report turned negative. He had since isolated himself and had been closely watched.

“Although he had no symptoms of Covid-19, his blood pressure showed severe fluctuations and required further evaluation for which he was admitted to hospital,” said an earlier statement from the hospital.
