In Tuesday’s episode of Tonight’s show, Jimmy Fallon shared his thoughts on a “huge announcement” made by the CDC earlier today regarding the use of masks.
As the host explained, fully vaccinated Americans will now be free to go out without a mask, as long as they are not in a large group.
“When people heard that, people in the streets started blinking their mouths like it was Mardi Gras,” he joked.
While the CDC’s announcement is something to celebrate, the decline of the Covid-19 pandemic has made Fallon nostalgic for his mask-wearing days. “I have to be honest, I’m going to miss wearing a mask. Adult acne made me feel young, you know? he said. “On the bright side, now we can finally stop strangely opening our eyes to greet people on the street.”
During his opening monologue, Fallon also touched on the “big week” ahead for President Biden, who will deliver his first joint address to Congress tomorrow. “Yes, everyone is eager to hear Biden speak,” he said. “Then at the last minute, they’re going to call Anthony Hopkins instead.
“It’s always interesting to watch a presidential speech. Half the crowd applauds, half the crowd sits in silence, ”he added. “It’s like looking back at Harry and Meghan’s wedding, don’t you think?
