Joe Biden, Kamala Harris call George Floyd’s family after verdict – Deadline

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have called the family of George Floyd following the news of a guilty verdict against former Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin.

Biden could be heard saying on the call, “I feel better now. Nothing is going to make things better, but at least now there is some justice.

Biden then mentioned Floyd’s daughter, Gianna, and a comment she made that “my dad is going to change the world.”

“He’s going to start changing it now,” Biden said. “You are an amazing family. I wish I was there just to put my arms around you.

Ben Crump, lawyer for the Floyd family, shared the moment in a tweet.
