LGBTQ pride featured during Nickelodeon song ‘Blues Clues’ – Deadline

Blues Clues & You, the reboot of the original children’s classic, has now carved its own place in popular culture with a new song.

The ABC Song with Blue!, sung by the dog Blue as voiced by Traci Paige Johnson, attributes concepts to the letters of the alphabet. At “P,” the song notes, “P is full of pride.” To emphasize its point, the “P” is in the colors of the rainbow, the same as the colors of the LGBTQ pride flag.

The letter is also surrounded by several other flags representing specific communities. These include flags for trans community, asexual community, pansexual community, intersex community, fluid gender community, etc.

ABC Song w / Blue! is exclusive to the show’s official YouTube channel. It has not yet been shown on television.

Nickelodeon previously ran an ad that appeared to indicate that Spongebob SquarePants was a member of the LGBTQ community. The network played coy when asked about this symbolism.

Last year, Nick Jr. shared a lesson on his social media platforms so kids could understand the meaning of the LGBTQ flag.
