BFI, BBC Film, Film4 unveil photos of UK Cannes market – Deadline

This year’s Cannes Film Festival programming may once again be limited to British films, but UK public financiers BFI, Film4 and BBC Film have teamed up with the British Council to launch the fourth edition of their ‘Great 8’ program. , which will feature emerging British filmmakers. to international distributors and festival programmers. In previous years, the “Great 8” had been launched during the physical Cannes film festival, but this year the event will air on June 17 before the Cannes virtual market at the end of the month. Festival buyers and programmers will have exclusive access to never-before-seen footage of each title, which will be presented by their filmmakers and made available in five different time zones.
