The Showtime Desus & Mero comedy duo appear to be on the road to recovery and vaccination from Covid-19.
After the revelation last week by The Kid Mero that he had contracted the coronavirus, his partner Desus Nice tweeted yesterday that he had received his vaccinated vaccine at a church in the Bronx.
“I just took my first pfizer photo at this location. they’re always open and it’s fast and wild, ”he tweeted.
Last Tuesday, the co-host of Desus and Mero took to social media to announce: “Your boy has had COVID.” Kid Mero, real name Joel Martinez, said he was doing fine and following all COVID-19 protocols. He has since tweeted several times, at least indicating that he was awake and feeling fine.
The show, which airs twice a week, will continue to air on Thursday, but Deadline understands the format will be changed to suit Mero’s situation and will feature pre-recorded segments. Desus will briefly appear at the top of the series before the pre-tapes, which will include an interview with Eddie Murphy.
The network will then make a decision on future shows, including Sunday’s episode.
Previously, the pair had revealed during a 30-minute SXSW conversation that they had returned to their New York City studio, nearly a year after the start of the pandemic.
“Lately we’ve been back to the studio with the proper precautions, backups, testing, zones and everything,” said Desus, aka Daniel Baker.
