In an Instagram post Thursday night, Kirkconnell apologized. “I was wrong,” Kirkconnell wrote. “I was ignorant, but my ignorance was racist… I am ashamed of my lack of education, but it is no one’s responsibility to educate me.

“Racial progress and unity is impossible without (white) accountability, and I deserve to be held accountable for my actions,” she wrote.

Kirkconnell’s comments came hours after The single person host Chris Harrison also apologized for the comments he made during a recent interview with former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay, on Additional, about the photo controversy. In this interview, Harrison defended Kirkconnell’s reputation, saying the photos were taken a long time ago and he also spoke out against the cancellation culture.

Harrison apologized for “speaking badly in a way that perpetuates racism”.
