First there was a hilarious “deepfake” video of Queen Elizabeth II’s Christmas speech. Now an animated parody of the annual post has appeared, with a cartoon Prince George joining Her Majesty in an alternate version created by Family Guy producer Gary Janetti.
The clip, taken from the upcoming HBO Max animated series The prince and posted on Instagram by Janetti, sees the “Queen” (voiced by actress Frances de the Tour) taking a look at last year’s annus horribilus. The Queen cartoon is about the pandemic and wildfires, but is surprised when Prince George, seven, talks about the cancellation of Coachella, the postponed James Bond movie, and the departure of Denise Richards. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
The clip ends on a somewhat vulgar note, as the Queen says the year “really f ****** sucked,” adding “At least we got the vaccine,” to which Prince George replies: “Most of them didn’t,” Referring to the commoner audience. The prince then drops the mic with “Merry Christmas, bitch, George and GanGan are stepping out.”
The next HBO Max series The prince will see Prince George and his siblings commenting on all things royal. The iron Throne Star Sophie Turner will voice Princess Charlotte, with Orlando Bloom as the voice of Prince Harry, Condola Rashad as Meghan Markle, Lucy Punch as Kate Middleton and Iwan Rheon as Prince William. Janetti is the voice of Prince George. The series is expected sometime in 2021.
