The fat tease was on today for Law and order: SVU, as star Mariska Hargitay and former costar Chris Meloni provided more selfie evidence on her highly anticipated return to the series.
Meloni hit the first on Instagram, posting a black and white photo of him Hargitay with the caption: “We’re a little closer.” This was followed hours later by Hargitay, who posted a color photo to Instagram proclaiming “Now even closer”, with the hashtag “#EO”.
Meloni is expected to return for a guest photo in his former role as Eliot Stabler. It’s a prelude to the debut of his own franchise vehicle, Law and order: organized crime, and marks his first guest move in the Law and order universe since he left the show almost a decade ago. In the entertainment business, he retired. In real life, contractual issues arose. Apparently, all is forgiven.
Meloni and Hargitay were the original cast members for SVU, which started airing in 1999. Meloni left the series in 2011. Hargitay and Meloni were partners on the show, but never romantic interests.
Fans were also teased last year about the comeback when Meloni showed up for the virtual table reading led by Hargitay and showrunner Warren Leight.
